At risk-of-poverty rate

Field: Demography, labour market and quality of life

Subfield: Quality of life

Details:

This indicator shows the share of people with an income below 60% of the national median income. In fact, this is an indicator of inequality, showing the share of people who are far from the average. In 2015, Romania had the highest risk-of-poverty rate in the EU. Only Serbia had a similar rate, the rest of the countries in the comparison having significantly lower rates. Similar to GINI, since 2010 the indicator has been on the increase in Romania, showing growing inequality.
