Details:
The crop production index is an aggregator (developed by FAO for the World Bank) made up of several indicators that are considered representative for crop production. The reference value is 100 units for the base period 2004-2006. The subsequent years are compared to these units, which allows a comparison of production in EU member states and the world. In the case of Romania, this indicator has oscillated in the last 40 years, with a record 116.48 units registered in 2004. The values for this indicator place Romania ahead of Poland and Hungary, with an evolution similar to Bulgaria’s.
