This indicator shows the evolution in time of exports and imports of resources, allowing the visualization of sufficiency of natural resources extracted in a country for the economy (the deficit or surplus). In 2016, Romania imported more than it exported (although in the case of non-metallic minerals, it exported more than it imported in the period 2000-2006). In 2016, imports exceeded exports by: a) metal ores – 66%; b) non-metallic minerals – 170%; c) fossil energy – 150%.
