Subfield: The state of health of the population
Details:
This indicator measures the number of years that a person (male or female) of a specific age is expected to live without any severe or moderate health problems. This indicator is also called disability-free life expectancy. Healthy life years are measured by surveys (calculated based on the answers of people in the sample). The aggregator offers data on: healthy life years at birth, healthy life years at 50 and healthy life years at 65. In 2010, in Romania, life expectancy was 70 in males and 77.1 in females, with numbers expecting to increase by 2030 by 5.9 years for males and 4.4 years for females. In 2015 Romania was halfway to the top among EU countries in terms of healthy life years in both males and females. Still, it is worth mentioning that in 2015 people in Sweden had approximately 15 healthy life years ahead of Romanians.
