Subfield: Quality of life
Details:
This indicator measures life satisfaction, following a simple scale, where people evaluate their life satisfaction on a scale from 0 to 10. At society level, current theories underline the stability of this indicator over time, with fluctuations visible over long time spans. Life satisfaction cultures have high inertia. National means are calculated for comparisons between countries. The data for Romania shows that the national average is approximately one point lower than the EU average. Moreover, despite a rising trend, Romania’s life satisfaction is among the lowest in the EU.
Units: self-evaluation on a scale from 0 to 10
