Field: National security
Subfield: The National System of Emergencies Management
Details:
This indicator shows the dynamics of the interventions of specialized emergency units and their capacity to intervene in emergencies to support the population and the communities. Five categories of emergencies are taken into consideration, each of them being managed by specialized personnel, with specific methods and techniques. The Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) has a large number of daily interventions, that take little time, with a mean annual growth of 5-10%. The number of fire interventions is smaller, but they take more time and consume a lot of resources; they do not vary much annually. It is noteworthy that the ratio between the number of interventions and qualified personnel has increased over 7 times in the last 10 years, and the higher the ratio, the lower the availability for emergency response.
