This indicator measures the annual evolution of remuneration of national civil servants in central public administration. The global indicator is calculated as a weighted arithmetic mean, using the national gross domestic product expressed in purchasing power standard as weight. The European values for this indicator are quite homogeneous, the lowest values (between 95 and 99) being recorded for Northern countries, Baltic countries, the Netherlands, Spain and Greece. In 2016 and 2017, Romania had the highest level in the EU (111.9, and 111.0, respectively), well above EU average (101 in 2017).
