Turnover of enterprises in the cultural sectors comprises the total sales invoiced during a fiscal exercise, except VAT invoiced. The cultural sectors can include firms that develop activities such as: book publishing, publishing of journals, periodicals, journals; motion picture production; architecture and design; creative arts and entertainment activities; media productions; libraries, archives, museums and other cultural activities.
This indicator is relevant because it reflects the dynamics of the production and circulation of symbolic goods in a society. Besides their cultural and entertainment functions, the creative and cultural sectors are part of economy, by value added and jobs created. In Romania, this indicator dropped from 5.26 million euro in 2008 to 3.68 million euro in 2016.
